The Story Behind the Bear
I've always been fascinated by the animals I encounter while traveling.
A glimpse of a bear in the woods can be over in seconds, but the memory can last for years. That feeling, the excitement of seeing wildlife in its natural surroundings, is part of what inspires my work.
I created this black bear as a way to carry a little of that experience with you.
The design is part of my larger collection of original wildlife artwork inspired by nature, travel, and the remarkable animals that share our world.

A Signature Mosaic Process
This bear is handcrafted using the distinctive mosaic process I've personally developed and refined over more than two decades.
Rather than simply sculpting or painting the surface, I build the design piece by piece, creating the dimensional texture and visual character that have become the signature of my work.
The finished result is durable, lightweight, richly textured, and unmistakably handmade.

Why I Created This
Wildlife has been at the heart of my work for more than twenty years.
I create animals because they make me feel something and I want my artwork to create that same connection for the person who wears it.
The black bear represents one of those unforgettable encounters with wildlife that can make a trip into the mountains feel like an adventure.
My goal isn't simply to make a bear-shaped necklace.
It's to capture a little bit of the wonder of encountering a bear in the wild.

Inspired by the American West
Black bears are found throughout much of North America, including the forests and mountains of the American West that have inspired so much of my artwork.
For me, this bear is a wearable reminder of those wild places, the mountains, forests, trails, and unexpected encounters that have provided inspiration for my collection.
